Played with him for the past 3 years, if you call him overrated I have not clue what you are talking about, I’ve seen his work ethic, I’ve seen him make people fall and look stupid, he always makes the players around him better. Thing is people call him over rated because he plays in a small classification and his stats should be much better since he is. False, the teams will double and sometimes triple team tom preventing him from doing his normal moves, and that’s where he shows his best attribute, being a distributer. His assist per game stat is way off the mark cause we had 7th graders counting and they would just be amazed by how Tom would even fit the ball through tight spaces and still get it to the guy, so they would stand and cheer instead of marking down the stat. So for the people who think Tom is overrated, try leading your team through your district playoffs (have that district be one of the biggest in the state) and then in the championship game score 40 points to beat your rival that defeated you earlier in the season. Until you do that, sit down and just watch him, turn on your comcast on demand and watch the WPIAL championship game and then talk.
How did he do in the state playoffs when the refs didnt give him every call? I agree he is a hell of a player, but he is a low d-1 guy at best. Refs in the wpial know who he is, therefor the give him all the calls.
He’s weak! What happened in Florida? Average teams at best, all the good ones went to vegas then the showcase and left before nationals! His team got smacked by 20 in both losses of pool play and only won one game in pool play as usual! They then went to the weakest losers… LOSERS CLASSIC and won the losers, not champions nor consolation, but losers bracket! They also got smacked in Vegas and didnt make it out of pool play! They stunk and he was worse. I heard Davidson was considering backing out and it be good if they did! Not to be mean because he is just a kid but lets be realistic. He gets the bad rep now because he’s played bad on the NATIONAL CIRCUIT! OUtside of Wpial hes done nothing! Lost WViriginia Lost Vegas, Lost Florida, Didnt go to King James! Anything else I should add…
Wow….either the young man and his team must have whipped up on your boy…or somebody peed in your Wheaties!! The Bball Stars of America Pittsburgh AAU team won 7 straight games to capture the Consolation bracket championship at Orlando, and they did not play in the Las Vegas tnmt ! Last time I checked, its hard to lose when you aren’t entered and do not play ! “Weak” Tom did not play in the WVirginia tnmt…he had just returned from an invitation to the Phila. Reebok All America Camp, where out of 120 kids, “Weak Tom” made the All Star team…you may be “tired of Tom”…but you had better get ready to hear his name a whole lot more in the coming years …or turn off your computer and tv and enjoy your moronic solitude !
anyone out there who thinks that he deserves to go anywere divsion 1 is crazy i played against him twice and both times we beat there ass. both our teams were in the same section and we won the section championship not them. and both times we showed him up. Hes the product of a coach who makes a weak schedule to make them look good. He’s 6′6 and hes afraid to go inside on wpial teams hahaha thats a joke!
wow lets see what the Lincoln Park pussycat has to say now….Droney destroyed them..tore their hearts out…TWICE !! the WPIAL championship game with a dagger 3 pointer for the win…then less than 3 weeks later in the Penna state Western final…he dropped 29 on them including taking it right at the 6′9″ big guy and dropping them on his head…including , again, the game winner !! !! oh , but he is “afraid to go inside ” . have a seat on your couch pussycat, and watch the D1 guy play in the state championship game !!
dude droney is the fucking man i watch this kid play in person unbeliveable talent and hell no he is not a low d-1 guy he could have went to villanova ,west virgina ,st john geogria tech come on man notre dame droney is the shit a very humble kid play basketball wit him all the time give him his credit he is a ball player
Looks like he is going to D’son. He will be joining a team with 2 very talented sophomores (Cochran, and Kuhlman), and a crafty veteran (McKillop) in the back court. He may need to be moved to the 3 spot to get considerable playing time. However, since 3 is a very minor difference from 2 in the Davidson scheme he may fair quite well there, and he has a chance to be a part of what looks like a great team his sophomore year. Starting 5 Cochran, Kuhlman, Droney, Allison, Ben-Eze…assuming Allison learns to be a bit more consistent, and Ben-Eze learns to be healthy that could be a killer team.

tell me how kentucky recruits him (even as soft a recruitment as it was) and he can only play a low d-1 schedule
he told ucla and stanford that he didnt want to go that far away from pittsburgh and thats y they didnt offer

ok lincoln park leopard u lost not once but twice to him in the playoffs
one game they were up by 20 before u came back and went up by 2 and tom hit a 3 with 10 seconds left to win or the next game when he miraculously just overcame his fear of the lane to hit an and one u with 3 seconds left to win by 3
